Pink Lady Cocktail

It was a favourite with 1930’s high society and is renowned as one of the first girly drinks. The Pink Lady is a classic cocktail with a blush from a hint of grenadine.  The key to this (and any cocktail shaken with egg),  is to shake longer than you would with most cocktails to ensure that everything is mixed well. The egg creates a wonderfully foamy top.

Ingredients:

1 1/2 oz gin
3/4 oz applejack
1/4 oz lemon juice
1-2 dashes grenadine
1 egg white
Maraschino cherry

Preparation:

  1. Pour the ingredients into a cocktail shaker with ice cubes.
  2. Shake vigorously.
  3. Strain into a chilled cocktail glass.
  4. Garnish with the cherry
